“Stewards of Nature” is an experiential learning camp conducted and curated by Animals and Us Academy & Forest School Singapore. It is a drop-off only program.

The camp has both indoor and outdoor components. In the morning, participants will be learning about local wildlife and the importance of conservation from veterinarians from the Animals and Us Academy. In the afternoon, participants will embark on a nature walk at the legendary Clementi Forest, led by the experienced Coaching Team from Forest School Singapore.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

Appreciate that Singapore has significant biodiversity
Recognise that humans are an inextricable part of Nature
Describe some flora and fauna species found in Singapore
Understand how human activities may affect biodiversity and what we can do to mitigate these impacts
Demonstrate respect, stewardship, connection, empathy and appropriate interactions with flora and fauna in the Natural world
Discuss key issues pertaining to achieving Singapore’s unique City-in-Nature vision
Discuss issues surrounding achieving a balance between human activities and Nature

8.45am – 10am	Singapore’s Wildlife and Biodiversity (Presented by: Animals and Us Academy)
10am – 10.15am	Break
10.15am – 11.30am	Facilitated Play of Rainforest City Nature-Theme Board Game (One complimentary copy of Rainforest City Board Game for every child)
11.30am – 1.30pm	Lunch – Bukit Timah Hawker Centre (OTOT) (Lunch & supply allowance of $10 will be given by us)
Segment 2	Outdoors at Clementi Forest
1.30pm – 4.30pm	Forest School Walk Start-Point at Bukit Timah Train Station End-Point at Block 103 Sunset Way
4.30pm – 5pm	Parents / Guardians can Pick-Up from the End-Point within this time slot

Food (Lunch)
Participants will be purchasing their own food/supply with the budget given by us at the Hawker Centre nearby during lunch. They will learn how to manage their budget while selecting their choice of food and drink for lunch. It is a great opportunity for them to learn independence with the support from their teachers & coaches.
(Anyone with specific dietary restriction that will not be able to consume local hawker food, are advised to bring their own Food)

Attended the “Animal and Us” workshop and my boy absolutely love it! Dr. Han was patient and taught the children on how to interpret animal’s emotion and the responsibility involved in having a pet. It was an awesome experience as the boy had fun listening to the animal jokes that Dr. Han shared and at the same time gain a lot of knowledge about animals!

My girl attended the “ Animal and Us “ Workshop conducted by Dr Han during the Sept hols and has been telling us about how fun it is. She loved Dr Han's jokes and is able to share with us knowledge on how to take care of pets. Dr Han is very good with children and engages them with interesting videos and demonstrations like using the microscope to learn about fleas. Thank you for the wonderful experience! 🙂

Dr Han and his team were very welcoming and interactive towards the children. They were also very patient in answering every child’s question. The sessions were very informative and presented well. The relevance of story and the showcased animal was spot on, could tell the kids learnt a lot from that one animal. Even after the session, the children were still talking about the animal and looked forward to the next session. Dr Han and his team did a great job! 👍🏻

We would like to extend a warm thank you to Dr Han, a veterinarian, from the Animals and Us Academy for organizing an amazing zoom session for the p1s and p2s of Meridian Primary School. Not only was the session very informative but it was also very interesting. It made learning so much more fun for our young learners. The talk was very clear and concise and could hold the students' attention throughout the interactive and engaging session. It was a great job done and we are looking forward to having more of such sessions with you, Dr Han.

My kids attended the “Hamster and Rabbit” workshop and they simply loved it. They enjoyed learning about the feeding habits of rabbits and the proper way to look after small animals. Dr Han was ever so friendly and patient with their endless questions. The team from “Animal and Us” have done an awesome job. I know because my kids can’t wait to sign up for the next one!
