Friends of Rabbits 2.0

Friends of Rabbits 2.0 (Ages 9-14) NEW!

Had a hoppy good time at our ‘Friends of Rabbits’ workshop but still want to learn more about these furry friends? This 3.5-hour programme will dive deeper into rabbit health, care, and behaviours. Children will also get to create enrichment items and toys for rabbits, which is also an important part of being a responsible pet owner and helps to strengthen the bond between pet and owner!

In this workshop, children will explore the:

  • Anatomy of rabbits (Dental, digestive, and reproductive systems)
  • Life stages of rabbits and the appropriate care needed
  • Advanced diet and treats selection
  • Rabbit behaviour (How do we tell when a rabbit is feeling unwell?)
  • Designing, creating, and testing of enrichment items for rabbits

*Due to safety and animal welfare considerations, live animals may or may not be used during the teaching of all workshops. A classroom environment can be stressful for an animal and studies have shown that replacements, such as puppetry and animal models can achieve similar learning outcomes. Where live animals are used, the activity will be under the direct supervision and instruction of a veterinarian to ensure the welfare of the animal and safety of the class. The participants’ amount of direct interaction with the animal is not guaranteed. We seek your understanding that in introducing the exciting world of animals to our children, safeguarding animal welfare and our participants’ safety remains an important priority to us and something which we wish to inculcate in our participants during our class.
